About

We're a mother-daughter team.  Dot is in her late twenties and has had fibromyalgia, chronic pain and migraines for nearly 4 years. Fibro Mom is a 60-ish, sometimes crabby caregiver who works part-time.

We talk about our daily triumphs and setbacks in coping with an invisible and chronic condition.

Dot (short for daughter) developed fibromyalgia, occipital and trigeminal neuralgia, myofascial pain syndrome, migraines and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) after a car accident almost 4 years ago.

Fibro Mom is the mother of Dot and her primary caregiver.

By supporting each other every day, we are able to deal with the incredible roller coaster of having an unpredictable, invisible and chronic pain condition.

  • We hope to help fibro families live happier and healthier lives by sharing our experiences.  For instance, how Dot participated in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) study, obtained Social Security disability, found and still seeks specialists and physical therapists, alternative treatments, and the most efficacious medications.
  • We're learning everything we can about fibromyalgia and chronic pain. There is now a greater focus on fibro but also a bewildering amount of news and research to sift through.  Fibro World is our place to share what we discover.
  • We'd love to connect and learn from your personal stories.  Do you battle with chronic pain every day?  We want to know how you do it.

  • Are You a fibro or chronic pain caregiver?  Are you ready to quit?!  :)  We'd love to know your coping tips!
